Location: Tulsa, OK 74131
Shift: Monday Friday | 6: 00 AM 4: 30 PM (Occasional Saturdays as Needed)

Position Overview
Stand-By Personnel is seeking an experienced ASME Code Header Fitter to join a growing fabrication team in Tulsa. This position is responsible for fitting, assembling, and preparing ASME code-compliant header boxes and related components according to engineering drawings, fabrication specifications, and quality standards.
The ideal candidate has previous ASME header fitting experience, can work independently, and consistently produces precise fit-ups in a heavy industrial fabrication environment.
Required Experience & Skills
Previous ASME Code Header Fitter experience required
Header box fitting experience is required
Proficiency with GMAW (MIG) and FCAW (Flux Core) welding processes
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, fabrication drawings, and ASME code requirements
Strong knowledge of fabrication, layout, and fit-up procedures
Ability to work independently while maintaining quality standards
Reliable attendance and strong commitment to workplace safety
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Fit and assemble ASME code header boxes and related fabricated components
Read and interpret fabrication drawings, weld symbols, and ASME code specifications
Verify dimensions, alignment, fit-up, and tolerances before welding
Work closely with welders and production personnel to ensure assemblies meet quality requirements
Prepare components for welding according to fabrication procedures
Inspect completed fit-ups to verify compliance with engineering specifications
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Follow all company safety procedures, quality standards, and fabrication requirements
Assist with additional fitting and fabrication duties as assigned
Weld Test Requirements
Candidates must successfully complete:
2G GMAW (MIG) Root Pass
FCAW (Flux Core) Fill and Cap
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience fabricating pressure vessels, heat exchangers, or ASME-coded equipment
Strong understanding of heavy industrial fabrication practices
Experience working with structural steel and pressure-containing assemblies
Knowledge of shop layout, fabrication sequencing, and quality inspection procedures
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, and repetitive physical activity throughout the shift
Ability to safely work around heavy steel, welding equipment, fabrication machinery, and overhead lifting devices while wearing required PPE
Comfortable working in a physically demanding fabrication environment
Work Environment
Heavy industrial fabrication and manufacturing facility
Exposure to fabrication equipment, welding operations, overhead cranes, heavy steel, heat, sparks, and industrial noise
Fast-paced production environment focused on precision, safety, and ASME code compliance
Occasional Saturday overtime available based on production requirements
