Position Overview
Stand-By Personnel is seeking an experienced Brazer to join a manufacturing team in Claremore. This position is responsible for brazing copper tubing, piping, and fittings used in the assembly of heat exchanger headers while maintaining strict quality and safety standards.
The ideal candidate has experience working with copper tubing and pipe, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to accurately follow blueprints and work instructions. Heat exchanger manufacturing experience is highly preferred.
Required Experience & Skills
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous manufacturing experience
• Ability to read and follow work instructions
• Ability to read and interpret diagrams and blueprints
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Basic mechanical aptitude
• Ability to maintain proper torch and braze rod technique
• Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Braze copper tubing and pipe to form headers for heat exchanger assemblies
• Braze required copper fittings onto completed headers
• Maintain proper torch control and braze rod technique throughout production
• Produce clean, consistent brazed joints according to quality requirements
• Maintain required ASME brazing certification
• Pressure test completed units to verify integrity and identify potential leaks
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and production instructions
• Inspect completed work to ensure quality and accuracy
• Follow production schedules and report completed work as required
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Follow all company policies, safety programs, and manufacturing procedures
• Perform additional brazing and production duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
• Previous experience working with copper tubing and pipe
• Heat exchanger manufacturing experience
• Previous industrial brazing experience
• Familiarity with pressure testing procedures
• Experience working from manufacturing blueprints and technical drawings
• Strong mechanical and fabrication skills
Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift
• Frequent walking, bending, reaching, and repetitive hand and arm movements
• Ability to safely operate torches and brazing equipment while wearing required PPE
• Comfortable performing detailed hands-on manufacturing work throughout the workday
• Ability to work safely around heated materials, manufacturing equipment, and production operations
Work Environment
• Industrial manufacturing and heat exchanger production facility
• Hands-on work involving copper tubing, piping, fittings, torches, and brazing equipment
• Production environment focused on safety, quality, and accurate assembly
• Regular pressure testing and inspection of completed components
• Team-oriented workplace requiring consistent attention to workmanship and production requirements
