Shift: Monday–Friday | 6:30 AM – 4:00 PM

Position Overview
Stand-By Personnel is seeking a dependable CDL Class A Yard Driver for an industrial operation in Rogers, Arkansas. This position works primarily within the facility yard, moving, spotting, and staging trailers, products, and materials to support daily shipping, receiving, and production operations.
This is primarily a yard-based driving position rather than a traditional over-the-road role. The ideal candidate has Class A driving experience, a clean driving record, strong trailer-maneuvering skills, and is comfortable working in an active industrial environment around metal and scrap materials.
Required Experience & Skills
• Valid CDL Class A license required
• Clean driving record required
• Previous Class A commercial driving experience
• Yard Driver experience preferred
• Ability to safely maneuver and position trailers
• Experience spotting and repositioning trailers preferred
• Knowledge of basic load securement procedures
• Ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Understanding of applicable DOT requirements
• Strong attention to safety and detail
• Ability to follow dispatch and yard instructions
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Dependable attendance and punctuality
• Comfortable working around metal, scrap, trucks, and industrial equipment
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Operate Class A commercial equipment within the facility yard
• Spot trailers in designated locations
• Reposition trailers throughout the property
• Move and stage loads according to operational requirements
• Stage products and materials for production
• Support Shipping and Receiving operations
• Coordinate trailer movements with dispatch and yard personnel
• Position trailers for loading and unloading
• Perform required pre-trip inspections
• Complete post-trip equipment inspections
• Inspect equipment for safety or maintenance concerns
• Secure loads when required
• Verify trailers and loads are positioned correctly
• Maintain accurate movement logs
• Complete applicable yard and transportation documentation
• Follow DOT requirements and company transportation procedures
• Communicate equipment, trailer, or material concerns promptly
• Maintain safe and organized yard operations
• Perform additional yard-driving responsibilities as assigned
Yard Driving Responsibilities
The majority of this position focuses on moving equipment and materials within the facility.
Candidates may regularly perform:
• Trailer spotting
• Trailer repositioning
• Load staging
• Yard maneuvering
• Positioning trailers at loading areas
• Positioning trailers at unloading areas
• Moving materials throughout the facility
• Supporting Shipping and Receiving
• Supporting Production operations
Candidates should be confident maneuvering Class A equipment in an active industrial yard.
Shipping, Receiving & Production Support
• Position trailers according to Shipping and Receiving needs
• Stage loads for upcoming operations
• Coordinate material movement with yard personnel
• Support efficient loading and unloading activities
• Move materials according to production requirements
• Help maintain efficient trailer and material flow
• Communicate delays or operational concerns promptly
Vehicle & Equipment Inspections
• Perform required pre-trip inspections
• Complete post-trip inspections
• Inspect tires, brakes, lights, and applicable vehicle components
• Identify potential safety or maintenance concerns
• Report equipment problems promptly
• Maintain applicable inspection documentation
• Help ensure assigned equipment remains safe and operational
Load Securement
• Inspect loads before movement
• Secure materials when required
• Verify loads are stable before transportation
• Identify potential load-shift concerns
• Inspect applicable securement equipment
• Follow DOT and company load-securement procedures
DOT & Documentation Responsibilities
• Follow applicable DOT regulations
• Maintain accurate trailer-movement logs
• Complete required yard documentation
• Maintain basic transportation records
• Follow company vehicle and safety procedures
• Communicate discrepancies or missing information
• Maintain required Class A driving qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
• Previous Yard Driver experience
• Class A industrial driving experience
• Trailer spotting experience
• Metal or scrap yard experience
• Steel or metals-industry experience
• Industrial transportation experience

• Load securement experience
Physical Requirements
• Ability to safely enter and exit Class A equipment repeatedly throughout the workday
• Ability to perform vehicle and trailer inspections
• Frequent walking, bending, reaching, climbing, pushing, and pulling
• Ability to handle applicable load-securement equipment
• Comfortable performing physically active yard responsibilities
• Ability to safely work around trucks, trailers, metal, scrap materials, and industrial equipment
• Ability to wear all required PPE
Work Environment
• Active industrial yard environment in Rogers, Arkansas
• Regular work around trucks, trailers, metal products, scrap materials, and industrial equipment
• Primarily yard-based Class A driving and trailer movement
• Frequent interaction with Shipping, Receiving, Production, dispatch, and yard personnel
• Consistent Monday–Friday | 6:30 AM – 4:00 PM schedule
• Strong emphasis on safe equipment operation, accurate trailer positioning, productivity, and dependable attendance
