Position Overview
Stand-By Personnel is seeking experienced CNC Machinists (Level 3/4) for a direct hire opportunity with a growing aerospace manufacturing company in Oklahoma City. This position is responsible for independently setting up and operating advanced CNC milling machines while producing high-precision aerospace components that meet strict engineering and quality standards.
The ideal candidate has extensive CNC machining experience, strong setup and troubleshooting abilities, and takes pride in producing quality work in a temperature-controlled manufacturing environment.
Required Experience & Skills
3 5+ years of CNC machining experience (Level 3/4)
Strong experience setting up and troubleshooting CNC milling machines
Experience operating 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis CNC mills
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and machining specifications
Experience performing tool changes, work offsets, and minor CNC program edits
Ability to maintain tight machining tolerances
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Reliable attendance and willingness to work mandatory overtime as required
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Set up and operate 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis CNC milling machines
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and machining specifications
Perform tooling changes, work offset adjustments, and minor CNC program edits
Machine precision aerospace components according to customer and engineering requirements
Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments to verify dimensional accuracy
Maintain production efficiency while meeting quality standards
Troubleshoot machining issues and make necessary adjustments to maintain productivity
Keep machines, tooling, and work areas clean, organized, and safe
Follow all company safety procedures, quality standards, and aerospace manufacturing requirements
Perform additional machining duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
Experience operating YCM, Haas, Okuma, or Kitamura CNC mills
Previous aerospace manufacturing experience
Wood router experience is a plus
Strong understanding of precision machining and advanced milling processes
Physical Requirements
Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs
Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and repetitive physical activity throughout the shift
Ability to safely operate CNC machinery while wearing required PPE
Comfortable working around industrial machining equipment and precision manufacturing processes
Work Environment
Temperature-controlled aerospace manufacturing facility
Fast-paced production environment focused on quality, precision, and continuous improvement
Exposure to advanced CNC machining centers, precision measuring equipment, and aerospace manufacturing processes
Mandatory overtime and Saturday work currently required to support production demands
