Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Class A Fitter Welder to join a premier fabrication team in Collinsville. This position is responsible for fitting and welding complex assemblies while working to strict ASME code standards. Candidates must be proficient in blueprint reading, precision fit-up, and multiple welding processes to produce high-quality fabricated components.

The ideal candidate is an experienced code welder with strong fitting abilities who takes pride in producing quality work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Required Experience & Skills
Minimum 3+ years of fitting and welding experience required
Experience with FCAW (Flux Core), GMAW (MIG), and GTAW (TIG) welding processes
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and fabrication specifications
Strong knowledge of ASME code standards and welding procedures
Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure
Experience using powered and manual hand tools safely
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Prepare materials and perform fit-up for welding operations
Operate and maintain welding equipment and fabrication tools safely
Perform welding in flat, vertical, and overhead positions
Follow all applicable ASME code requirements during fabrication
Complete fillet welds, J-groove welds, back gouging, and other required weld configurations
Read and follow engineering drawings, work orders, and fabrication documentation
Safely use ladders, scaffolding, and temporary support equipment as required
Wear proper PPE and follow all company safety procedures
Support production schedules while maintaining strict quality standards
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Weld Test Requirements
Candidates must successfully complete:

3G Plate Weld Test using MIG (GMAW) and Flux Core (FCAW) on plate
6G TIG Weld Test on 2-inch pipe to ASME code standards
Preferred Qualifications
Previous pressure vessel or ASME fabrication experience
Heavy industrial or structural fabrication experience
Experience with complex fit-up and precision fabrication work
Strong knowledge of welding inspection standards and quality requirements
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, and repetitive physical activity throughout the shift
Ability to safely operate welding and fabrication equipment while wearing required PPE
Comfortable working around heavy steel, welding fumes, sparks, heat, and industrial machinery
Work Environment
Heavy industrial manufacturing and fabrication facility
Exposure to welding equipment, heavy steel materials, overhead cranes, industrial machinery, and fabrication processes
Physically demanding environment requiring standing, lifting, climbing, bending, and repetitive movement throughout the shift
Safety-focused workplace requiring PPE compliance at all times
