Location: Tulsa, OK
Shift: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Overtime: Minimal | Occasional Weekends or Emergency Call-Ins

Position Overview
Stand-By Personnel is seeking skilled Electrical Journeymen to support a growing commercial electrical contractor in Tulsa. The company is experiencing strong demand and expanding its workforce to take on additional projects throughout the area.
This is an excellent opportunity for licensed electricians seeking long-term stability and potential permanent placement. Work is primarily focused on commercial remodels, service, maintenance, and building conversions rather than ground-up construction.
Experienced Commercial Electricians are strongly preferred; however, newly licensed Journeymen who are motivated and eager to learn are encouraged to apply. Training is available for the right candidates.
Required Experience & Qualifications
• Unlimited Electrical License required for commercial work
• Ability to safely work with 120V–480V electrical systems
• Knowledge of commercial electrical installation and repair practices
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems
• Ability to safely use ladders, lifts, hand tools, and power tools
• Reliable transportation required until permanent hire
• Strong commitment to workplace and electrical safety
• Dependable attendance and professional work habits
• Ability to work independently and as part of an electrical crew
• Work boots required – no tennis shoes
• Additional PPE required according to individual job-site requirements
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Perform commercial electrical installations
• Complete electrical work associated with remodeling and building conversions
• Troubleshoot electrical systems and identify faults
• Repair electrical equipment, circuits, wiring, and related components
• Perform routine electrical maintenance and service work
• Assist with project finish-out responsibilities
• Install and modify electrical systems according to project requirements
• Work with 120V, 240V, 277V, and 480V systems as applicable
• Read and follow applicable electrical plans and project requirements
• Safely use lifts and ladders
• Work in confined spaces when required
• Perform both indoor and outdoor electrical work
• Maintain clean and organized work areas
• Follow all company and job-site safety procedures
• Perform additional commercial electrical responsibilities as assigned
Commercial Project Work
Current and upcoming work primarily involves:
• Commercial remodels
• Building conversions
• Apartment developments
• Downtown Tulsa conversion projects
• Hotels
• Car washes
• Commercial service work
• Electrical maintenance
• Project finish-outs
The company's primary focus is commercial remodel and conversion work rather than ground-up construction.
Electrical Systems & Technical Environment
Journeymen may work with:
• 120V systems
• 208V systems
• 240V systems
• 277V systems
• 480V systems
• Commercial branch circuits
• Lighting systems
• Electrical panels
• Conduit and wiring
• Commercial service equipment
• Electrical troubleshooting and repair
PLC and automation responsibilities are primarily handled by company ownership.
Newly Licensed Journeymen
Newly licensed Electricians are encouraged to apply.
Candidates who recently earned their Journeyman license may be considered if they:
• Hold the required Unlimited Electrical License
• Demonstrate strong electrical fundamentals
• Have a positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Are motivated to develop commercial electrical experience
• Follow instructions and safety procedures
• Are eager to learn from experienced commercial electricians
Training is available for motivated newly licensed Journeymen.
Preferred Qualifications
• Commercial electrical experience
• Commercial remodeling experience
• Building conversion experience
• Apartment electrical experience
• Hotel electrical experience
• Electrical service and maintenance experience
• Commercial troubleshooting experience
• Experience with lifts and ladders
• Experience working with 120V–480V systems
• Strong conduit, wiring, and finish-out skills
Tools, Transportation & Equipment
• Reliable personal transportation required initially
• Company truck may be available after permanent hire
• Work boots required
• Additional PPE required according to job-site conditions
• Employees may work from lifts and ladders
• Employees must be comfortable working in confined spaces when required
Permits and inspections are handled by the company.
Screening Requirements
Candidates must successfully complete:
• 7-year background check
• 10-panel drug screen
• Compliance with a zero-tolerance drug policy
• Compliance with a zero-tolerance theft policy
Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, climbing, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling
• Ability to safely climb and work from ladders and lifts
• Ability to work in confined spaces when required
• Ability to safely use electrical hand and power tools
• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
• Ability to perform physically demanding commercial electrical work throughout the shift
• Ability to safely wear required PPE
Work Environment
• Commercial electrical construction and service environment
• Primarily remodels, conversions, maintenance, and finish-out projects
• Current projects include downtown Tulsa building conversions
• Regular work around energized and de-energized electrical systems, conduit, wiring, panels, lifts, ladders, and construction equipment
• Combination of indoor and outdoor work
• Stable Monday–Friday schedule with minimal overtime
• Occasional weekend or emergency work may be required depending on project needs
