Position Overview
Stand-By Personnel is seeking a dependable Press Operator to join a manufacturing team in Pryor. This position is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring press equipment to produce quality parts according to work instructions and production specifications.
The ideal candidate has previous manufacturing or machine operation experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to monitor equipment, inspect finished parts, and make basic adjustments while maintaining safety, quality, and production standards.
Required Experience & Skills
• Previous manufacturing or press operation experience preferred
• Ability to read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and production instructions
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to use measuring devices including calipers, micrometers, and gauges
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality
• Ability to safely operate industrial production equipment
• Strong problem-solving and time-management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a production team
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
• High school diploma or GED preferred
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Set up and operate press machines according to work instructions and specifications
• Load raw materials into press equipment and remove finished products
• Monitor machine performance throughout production runs
• Make basic equipment adjustments as needed to maintain production requirements
• Inspect finished parts for dimensions, defects, and overall quality
• Use calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring equipment to verify specifications
• Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and production schedules
• Perform routine machine maintenance and minor troubleshooting
• Record production information and complete required documentation accurately
• Identify and report equipment malfunctions, quality concerns, or safety hazards to supervisors
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and production requirements
• Perform additional machine operation and production duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
• Previous industrial press operating experience
• Manufacturing or metal fabrication experience
• Machine setup and adjustment experience
• Blueprint reading experience
• Experience performing dimensional and quality inspections
• Familiarity with precision measuring equipment
• Mechanical troubleshooting and preventive maintenance experience
Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs
• Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift
• Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, and repetitive physical activity
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination necessary for machine operation
• Ability to safely work around moving machinery while wearing required PPE
• Comfortable performing physically active work in a manufacturing environment
Work Environment
• Industrial manufacturing and production facility
• Regular operation of press machinery and related production equipment
• Exposure to industrial noise, moving machinery, raw materials, and active production processes
• Fast-paced environment focused on safety, quality, productivity, and equipment efficiency
• Team-oriented workplace requiring dependable communication and attention to production requirements
