Hand Welder – Weekend Shift
Pay: Starting at $32.00 per hour
Performance Pay: Opportunity to earn $34.00–$36.00 per hour after 90 days with a retroactive raise based on NDE rejection rate and weld production.
Location: Tulsa, OK 74107
Shift: Friday–Sunday | 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM (Paid for 40 Hours)

Position Overview
Stand-By Personnel is seeking an experienced Hand Welder for a weekend shift supporting pipe fabrication operations in the natural gas industry. This position requires advanced welding skills across multiple processes, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to consistently produce high-quality welds that meet strict code and customer specifications.
The ideal candidate is proficient in pipe fabrication, blueprint interpretation, and multiple welding processes while maintaining excellent quality and safety standards.
Required Experience & Skills
• Proven experience in pipe welding and fabrication
• Proficiency in Stick (SMAW), MIG (GMAW), TIG (GTAW), and Flux Core (FCAW) welding processes
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and technical drawings
• Strong understanding of welding procedures, codes, and quality requirements
• Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship
• Reliable attendance and ability to work independently
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Perform pipe welding and fabrication using SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, and FCAW processes
• Complete high-quality welds according to engineering drawings and welding procedures
• Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication specifications
• Inspect completed welds to verify proper size, appearance, penetration, and overall quality
• Maintain productivity while meeting strict quality and safety standards
• Safely operate welding and fabrication equipment
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Follow all company welding procedures, quality standards, and safety policies
Weld Test Requirements
Candidates must successfully complete:
• 6G Pipe Test
MIG root
Stick fill and cap
• 6G Pipe Branch Test
MIG root
Stick fill and cap
• Ability to pass API 1104 Branch Weld Test
• Experience in pressure vessel, pipeline, or natural gas equipment fabrication
• Knowledge of ASME and API welding standards
• Experience working in heavy industrial manufacturing environments
Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in various welding positions throughout the shift
• Ability to safely operate welding equipment while wearing required PPE
• Comfortable working around heavy steel, welding fumes, sparks, heat, and industrial machinery
Work Environment
• Heavy industrial manufacturing facility supporting pipe fabrication for the natural gas industry
• Fast-paced fabrication environment focused on quality, productivity, and safety
• Exposure to welding equipment, overhead cranes, heavy materials, industrial machinery, and fabrication processes
• Weekend schedule providing 40 hours of pay for three 12-hour shifts
