Position Overview
Stand-By Personnel is seeking a dependable and mechanically inclined Maintenance Technician I / Driver for a temp-to-hire opportunity in Oklahoma City. This position combines hands-on facility maintenance with local driving responsibilities to support daily operations.
The Maintenance Technician will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot equipment and building-system issues, complete basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting repairs, and drive a company vehicle to pick up or deliver parts and materials.
The ideal candidate has previous general maintenance experience, strong troubleshooting abilities, a clean driving record, and enough electrical knowledge to safely work around 120V, 240V, and 480V three-phase systems.
Required Experience & Skills
• Must be at least 21 years old
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required
• 1–3 years of related maintenance experience preferred
• Basic understanding of 120V, 240V, and 480V three-phase electrical systems
• Basic plumbing knowledge, including PVC and piping
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
• Experience using common hand and power tools
• Ability to perform general facility and building repairs
• Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team
• Strong reliability and dependable attendance
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Strong commitment to workplace safety
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on building systems and equipment
• Inspect facility equipment and fixtures for maintenance concerns
• Troubleshoot and diagnose basic mechanical and equipment problems
• Complete general repairs throughout the facility
• Assist with basic electrical maintenance and troubleshooting
• Perform basic plumbing repairs and maintenance
• Complete minor carpentry and painting projects
• Repair and maintain building fixtures
• Replace or repair lights, doors, windows, flooring, and related facility components
• Select appropriate tools and materials for assigned maintenance work
• Respond to maintenance requests and help minimize equipment or facility downtime
• Maintain tools, materials, and maintenance work areas
• Support daily maintenance department operations
• Follow all company safety procedures and maintenance requirements
• Perform additional maintenance responsibilities as assigned
Electrical Responsibilities
Candidates should have a basic understanding of industrial and facility electrical systems, including:
• 120V systems
• 240V systems
• 480V three-phase systems
• Lighting and electrical fixtures
• Basic electrical troubleshooting
• Safe use of electrical tools and equipment
This is a Maintenance Technician I position, but candidates should be comfortable identifying electrical issues and safely supporting applicable maintenance activities.
Plumbing & Facility Maintenance
Responsibilities may include:
• PVC plumbing
• General piping repairs
• Minor leaks and plumbing issues
• Door and window repairs
• Lighting and fixture maintenance
• Flooring repairs
• Carpentry
• Painting
• General building upkeep
• Preventive facility maintenance
Driving Responsibilities
This position also requires regular operation of a company vehicle.
• Drive company vehicles for local pickups and deliveries
• Pick up maintenance parts, tools, materials, and supplies
• Deliver materials locally as assigned
• Operate company vehicles safely and professionally
• Follow all applicable traffic laws and company driving policies
• Maintain professional communication when interacting with vendors and other locations
• Report vehicle or transportation concerns as required
Preferred Qualifications
• Previous Maintenance Technician experience
• Industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience
• Building maintenance experience
• Electrical troubleshooting experience
• Experience around 480V three-phase systems
• Plumbing and PVC experience
• Carpentry or general construction experience
• Mechanical equipment repair experience
• Preventive maintenance experience
• Previous delivery or company vehicle experience

• Ability to safely enter and exit company vehicles throughout the workday
• Ability to safely work around electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and facility systems while wearing required PPE
Work Environment
• Combination of facility maintenance and local driving responsibilities
• Regular work around building systems, electrical equipment, plumbing, tools, and maintenance materials
• Hands-on position requiring frequent troubleshooting and problem-solving
• Local travel using a company vehicle for parts and material pickups and deliveries
• Stable Monday–Friday daytime schedule
• Safety-focused environment requiring consistent compliance with maintenance and driving procedures
