Position Overview
Stand-By Personnel is seeking a dependable Pipe Prep associate to join a manufacturing and fabrication team in the Tulsa area. This position is responsible for preparing pipe for production by grinding away paint and surface material, beveling pipe, and ensuring components are properly prepared for the next stage of fabrication.
The ideal candidate is comfortable using hand and power grinding tools, has strong attention to detail, and can perform physically active work throughout the shift. Previous industrial or manufacturing experience is helpful but not required.

• Ability to perform pipe preparation and material-handling tasks

• Ability to work independently and as part of a production team
• Previous industrial or manufacturing experience is a plus
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Grind paint and coatings from pipe surfaces
• Prepare pipe and components for production and fabrication processes
• Bevel pipe according to production requirements
• Inspect prepared surfaces for completeness and quality
• Identify areas requiring additional grinding or preparation
• Safely operate grinders and related hand and power tools
• Handle and move pipe and production materials as required
• Maintain consistent productivity while meeting quality standards
• Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean and organized
• Follow all company safety and quality procedures
• Properly use required PPE while performing grinding and pipe preparation work
• Perform additional shop and production duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
• Previous pipe preparation experience
• Industrial grinding or metal finishing experience
• Manufacturing or fabrication experience
• Experience beveling pipe
• Experience using grinders and other metalworking tools
• Previous work in a welding or pipe fabrication shop
• Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with shop equipment
Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift, carry, and move materials as required
• Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift
• Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, and repetitive upper-body movement
• Ability to safely handle pipe and fabricated components
• Ability to safely operate grinding equipment while wearing required PPE
• Comfortable performing repetitive and physically active work throughout the day
Work Environment
• Industrial manufacturing and pipe fabrication environment
• Regular use of grinders and other pipe preparation equipment
• Hands-on work involving pipe, metal surfaces, coatings, and fabrication materials
• Production-focused environment requiring consistent attention to safety and quality
• Stable Monday–Friday day-shift schedule
