Position Overview
Stand-By Personnel is seeking an experienced Quality Control Inspector to join a premier manufacturing team in Collinsville. This high-skill position is responsible for inspecting welded assemblies, verifying compliance with ASME codes, reviewing non-destructive examination (NDE) documentation, and ensuring all products meet stringent quality and customer requirements.
The ideal candidate has extensive QA/QC experience in a welding or fabrication environment and is committed to maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and documentation.
Required Experience & Skills
Previous experience in welding inspection and QA/QC required
Strong knowledge of ASME codes and welding standards
Experience with NDE (Non-Destructive Examination) methods and documentation requirements
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and technical drawings
Experience using precision measuring instruments and inspection equipment
Strong documentation, organizational, and communication skills
High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Ability to successfully pass a required vision/eye examination
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Inspect welds for quality, defects, and compliance with ASME code requirements
Verify welder qualifications and confirm proper welding procedures are followed
Review and monitor NDE and PWHT (Post Weld Heat Treatment) processes and documentation
Witness and document hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure testing
Inspect incoming materials, fabrication processes, and finished products for compliance with specifications
Complete detailed inspection reports, quality records, and production documentation
Communicate quality concerns with production personnel and management
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Follow all company quality procedures, safety policies, and regulatory requirements
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in pressure vessel or heavy industrial fabrication environments
Familiarity with welding procedure specifications (WPS) and procedure qualification records (PQR)
CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) certification is a plus
Experience with quality management systems and manufacturing documentation
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
Frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, and inspecting products throughout the shift
Ability to safely work around fabrication equipment and industrial machinery while wearing required PPE
Ability to perform detailed visual inspections for extended periods
Work Environment
Heavy industrial manufacturing and fabrication facility
Fast-paced production environment focused on quality, precision, and safety
Exposure to welding operations, fabrication equipment, industrial machinery, and inspection activities
Second-shift schedule supporting production quality and final inspections
