Position Overview
Stand-By Personnel is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Small Package Shipping Associate to join a busy warehouse operation in Tulsa. This position is responsible for preparing, processing, documenting, and shipping small packages while maintaining accurate shipping records and organized inventory.
The ideal candidate has previous shipping or warehouse experience, is comfortable working with computers and data-entry systems, and has experience operating a forklift. Accuracy is especially important in this position, as the Shipping Associate will verify orders, create shipping labels, enter shipment information, and ensure packages are properly prepared before leaving the facility.
Required Experience & Skills
• Forklift experience required

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Process and prepare outgoing small package shipments
• Verify customer orders for accuracy before shipment
• Select appropriate packaging and prepare products for transportation
• Create and apply shipping labels
• Enter shipment information accurately into computer systems
• Verify addresses, quantities, and shipment information
• Inspect completed packages for proper packaging and labeling
• Track and document outgoing shipments
• Maintain accurate shipping and inventory records
• Organize completed packages for carrier pickup
• Communicate with carriers and internal departments regarding shipment status or concerns
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe shipping and receiving areas
• Follow all company safety procedures and warehouse standards
• Perform additional shipping and warehouse duties as assigned
Computer & Shipping Responsibilities
This position requires regular computer use for shipping and documentation activities, including:
• Creating shipping labels
• Entering shipment information
• Maintaining shipping records
• Tracking outgoing packages
• Updating inventory information
• Verifying order details
• Recording shipment activity
• Communicating shipment information to appropriate departments
Candidates should be comfortable learning and using company shipping and warehouse systems.
Forklift & Material Handling Responsibilities
• Safely operate a forklift to move warehouse materials
• Load and unload incoming or outgoing products as required
• Stage products and materials in designated locations
• Move inventory between warehouse and shipping areas
• Maintain awareness of surrounding employees and equipment while operating a forklift
• Follow all company forklift and material-handling safety requirements
Quality & Order Verification
• Verify products and quantities against order information
• Confirm shipping labels and documentation are accurate
• Inspect packages before shipment
• Ensure products are appropriately protected and packaged
• Identify incorrect, damaged, or incomplete orders before shipment
• Report shipping or inventory discrepancies to appropriate personnel
• Maintain consistent accuracy while processing multiple orders
Preferred Qualifications
• Previous Small Package Shipping experience
• Warehouse or distribution experience
• Shipping and receiving experience
• Forklift operating experience
• Computerized shipping system experience
• Data-entry experience
• Inventory control experience
• Order fulfillment or order-pulling experience
• Experience working with parcel carriers and shipping documentation
Physical Requirements
• Ability to regularly lift and move up to 50 lbs
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift
• Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling
• Ability to safely enter and exit forklifts throughout the workday
• Manual dexterity required for packaging, labeling, and computer work
• Comfortable performing physically active warehouse duties throughout the shift
• Ability to safely work around forklifts and other warehouse equipment
Work Environment
• Warehouse, shipping, and logistics environment
• Combination of computer-based shipping responsibilities and hands-on warehouse work
• Regular interaction with packages, inventory, forklifts, computers, and shipping equipment
• Fast-paced environment requiring consistent attention to order and documentation accuracy
