Location: Sand Springs, OK 74063
Shift: Monday–Thursday | 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Additional Hours and Weekends as Required)

Position Overview
Stand-By Personnel is seeking an experienced Stainless Fitter Welder to join a growing fabrication team in Sand Springs. This position is responsible for fitting, assembling, and welding stainless steel components for custom industrial units while maintaining strict quality, safety, and production standards.
The ideal candidate has strong stainless steel fabrication experience, can independently read blueprints, perform precision fit-up, and consistently produce high-quality welds in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment.
Required Experience & Skills
• Minimum 2 years of stainless steel welding experience required
• Ability to successfully pass a 3G Stainless MIG Weld Test (3/8"plate)
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and engineering specifications
• Strong mathematical skills and mechanical aptitude
• Proficiency using tape measures, levels, protractors, and other precision measuring tools
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• High school diploma or GED required
• Two-year technical degree or welding certificate preferred
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Fit, clamp, tack weld, grind, and bolt stainless steel components in preparation for final welding
• Analyze engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations
• Lay out and fit nozzles, supports, and couplings according to blueprint specifications
• Measure completed workpieces to verify compliance with engineering tolerances
• Develop templates and layouts using mathematical calculations based on blueprint information
• Remove burrs and rough edges using grinders, hand files, and other finishing tools
• Maintain accurate production records and required documentation
• Safely operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and fabrication equipment as needed
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Follow all company safety policies, PPE requirements, and quality standards
• Perform additional fabrication duties as assigned
Weld Test Requirements
Candidates must successfully complete:
• 3G Stainless Steel MIG Weld Test
• 3/8-inch Stainless Plate (MIG weld from root to finish)
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience fabricating stainless steel pressure vessels or industrial equipment
• Previous work in heavy fabrication or custom manufacturing environments
• Forklift and overhead crane operating experience
• Strong understanding of precision fit-up and fabrication techniques
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, climbing ladders, and repetitive physical activity throughout the shift
• Ability to safely work around heavy steel, fabrication equipment, welding operations, and industrial machinery while wearing required PPE
• Strong visual acuity, including close vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and color recognition for precision fabrication work
Work Environment
• Heavy industrial metal fabrication facility
• Non-climate-controlled environment with exposure to heat, noise, dust, dirt, and metal particles
• Required use of PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, welding hood, face shield, safety harness, and OSHA-approved steel-toe footwear
• Fast-paced production environment focused on safety, precision, and craftsmanship
