Description: Location: Claremore, OK
Position: Sub Assembly
Payrate: $22.00/hr + $2.00 shift differential
Shift: 3: 30pm - 2: 00am
Order # 126437
The Sub-Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling heat exchanger components and subassemblies in accordance with engineering specifications, quality standards, and production schedules. This position plays a key role in ensuring heat exchanger units are manufactured safely, accurately, and efficiently.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assemble heat exchanger components, including tubes, headers, frames, coils, fins, and related parts according to drawings and work instructions.
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, bills of materials, and assembly specifications.
Operate hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and assembly equipment.
Verify dimensions and component fit-up to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
Perform visual inspections on parts and completed subassemblies to identify defects or nonconforming materials.
Prepare components for welding, brazing, pressure testing, or final assembly operations.
Maintain accurate production and quality records.
Report equipment malfunctions, quality concerns, and safety issues to supervisors.
Follow all safety procedures, quality standards, and company policies.
Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with 5S and housekeeping standards.
Assist with inventory management and material handling as needed.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity and product quality.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Experience in manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, or heat exchanger production preferred.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and assembly instructions.
Basic understanding of measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and micrometers.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality products.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the workday.
Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, and lifting.
Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
Manual dexterity required to handle tools and small components.
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, heat, and moving equipment.
Work Environment
Manufacturing and fabrication facility.
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and steel-toed footwear.
May work near welding, brazing, machining, and testing operations.
